Aurora Aksnes, born June 15th of 1995 in Stavanger and professionally referred to as Aurora often stylized in uppercase as AURORA is a Norwegian musician and singer. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves by Decca Records was released on May 15th of 2015 receiving rave reviews from both music bloggers as well as the media. Half the World Away, by the Oasis band, was released for John Lewis Christmas advertisements and Nature Boy by Nat King Cole are two of her best-known songs. Katy Perry, who endorsed the song Runaway with her voice, gave it some more recognition. Make it a day to celebrate her birthday. Aurora Aksnes' first musical memories involve finding a tiny piano hidden in the basement and becoming enthralled by the sounds it created. Jan Oystein Aksnes, her parents May Britt Aksnes, and Jan Oystein Aksnes, encouraged their daughter to learn music as a passion rather than as a job. The Aksnes family encouraged her to compose. In addition to Bjork, she cites Leonard Cohen as an influence. After her mother said that the songs she wrote could be used to not be famous for her, but instead to inspire individuals to recognize the value of themselves and their impact to our world at large, she started playing them on stage. When she began playing the piano, she was only six and began writing music when she was nine. The fact that she was a musician wasn't known to her family members until she turned fourteen. Aurora isn't something she imagined as a child. Her only passion is to compose music. She says that music is her favorite way of feeling anything.
